Perez Hilton reacts after Jill Zarin is fired from ‘Real Housewives’ revival over her comments on Bad Bunny’s Halftime Show

Pop culture podcaster Perez Hilton reacted after the Real Housewives of New York alum Jill Zarin was dropped from the show’s revival following her comments on Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl Halftime Show. For the unversed, Zarin posted a video on social media and criticized this year’s Halftime Show for being in Spanish.

Zarin was set to appear in the recently announced docuseries The Golden Life, which will feature other RHONY stars including Ramona Singer, Luann de Lesseps, and Kelly Bensimon, among others. However, after Zarin slammed Bad Bunny’s Halftime Show in a now-deleted video, Blink49 Studios announced that they would not “move forward” with Zarin’s involvement in the show.

“In light of recent public comments made by Jill Zarin, Blink49 Studios has decided not to move forward with her involvement in The Golden Life. We remain committed to delivering the series in line with our company standards and values.” Blink49 Studios said in a statement shared with Us Weekly.

Perez Hilton reacted to the development in his Tuesday blog post. The blogger wrote that Zarin got fired because of her “gross” review of Bad Bunny’s performance. While quoting the production house’s response to Jill Zarin’s rant, Hilton wrote:

“Buh-bye!!”

Perez Hilton also dismissed Zarin’s objection to the Spanish language. He argued that many people didn’t understand the language but “still enjoyed” the show.

What did Jill Zarin say about Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl Halftime Show?

Although Jill Zarin removed her review following backlash, the videothe video circulated widely on the internet. The RHONY alum said it was the “worst halftime show ever.” She voiced disapproval of the beacuse it was in Spanish. Zarin called it “inappropriate” that Bad Bunny was “grabbing his G area” during the performance.

“I think it was totally inappropriate. You’ve got all these young kids watching the Super Bowl, and he doesn’t have to be grabbing himself every five seconds because he’s so insecure. Seriously. I don’t speak Spanish. I would’ve liked to have known the words he was saying. To me, it looked like a political statement because there were literally no white people in the entire thing.”

She suggested that the Halftime Show was an “ICE thing” and called the NFL “sold out.” Later in the video, Zarin took swipes at Lady Gaga and remarked that she couldn’t recognize the pop star due to her “facelift.”

Jill Zarin also shared her response after she was removed from the show. Speaking exclusively with In Touch, the RHONY star said:

“They didn’t even give me a chance. I took it down right away. People make mistakes. I’m human.”

While many criticized Zarin’s remarks, Brandi Glanville came in Zarin’s support. The RHOBH alum took to X and wrote that she did not support Zarin’s comments but wanted to give her the opportunity to explain herself.

“OK #1 I have a HUGE crush on Bad Bunny I wanna be his Mrs. Robinson… the 1/2 show rocked. My friend @Jill Zarin has her own opinion & I don’t agree with it AT ALL but opinions aren’t wrong they’re subjective. I want to watch Jill on TV explain herself & hopefully learn something,” Glanville posted.

Bad Bunny’s Halftime Show left people divided on the internet. Many people called out the event for being in the Spanish language. At the same time, the show was praised by many and drew massive viewership.
