The New England Patriots had an impressive resurgence this season under new coach Mike Vrabel. During the 2024 season, they finished dead last in the AFC East with a 4-13 record. However, this season, Vrabel helped the team to its first AFC title since the Tom Brady era.
On the other hand, the Seahawks also impressed with their performance after failing to qualify for the playoffs in 2024. They won the NFC title as the No. 1-seeded team in the conference under new quarterback Sam Darnold.
Micah Parsons also began a new chapter of his NFL career this season. After four seasons with the Dallas Cowboys, he was traded to the Green Bay Packers after failed contract negotiation attempts. He then agreed to a four-year, $188 million deal with the team.
Parsons and the Packers qualified for the playoffs. However, they suffered a 31-27 loss to the Bears in a wild-card showdown. During the regular season, the five-time Pro Bowler recorded 41 total tackles, 12.5 sacks and 12 tackles for loss.
Micah Parsons reveals how he was almost traded to another team before joining the Packers
Micah Parsons revealed that he was almost traded to another team before the Cowboys struck a deal with the Packers.
On his podcast on Saturday, the linebacker said that he was almost on his way to join Nick Sirianni and the Philadelphia Eagles.
“It was very close,” Parsons said. “And I was really about to come but there was one person that I had to play with that if he was gone I did not want to be there. And that was Jalen Carter.
“They wanted a D-tackle and they wanted to trade me plus some picks. I don’t really care about the picks- but I’m coming to play next to J.C., you feel me?”
In the end, the Eagles ended up with Jaelan Phillips following a trade with the Miami Dolphins. They finished the season with an 11-6 record and a wild-card playoff loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
