Club America and CD Olimpia return to action in the CONCACAF Champions Cup when they square off at the Estadio Azteca on Wednesday. Having suffered a narrow defeat in last week’s reverse leg, Eduardo Fabian Espinel’s men will head into the midweek tie looking to overturn a one-goal deficit and continue their quest for continental glory.
Alejandro Zendejas delivered the goods for Club America once again as he netted the only goal of the game to hand them a 1-0 victory over Monterrey in their Liga MX clash last Sunday.

Andre Jardine’s side have won three games on the trot, edging out Club Necaxa and Monterrey in Liga MX on either side of a 2-1 victory over Olimpia in the Champions Cup on February 4.
Club America will be backing themselves to get the job done on Wednesday when they return home, where they are on a run of seven wins from their last eight matches since late September.
Following their first-leg defeat against Club America, Olimpia returned to winning ways on Sunday when they edged out Lobos 1-0 in the Honduras Liga Nacional.
Espinel’s men have gone unbeaten in their four games to start the new league campaign, picking up two wins and two draws to collect eight points and sit second in the table, two points off first-placed Real Espana.
Olimpia are making their return to the CONCACAF Champions Cup for the first time since March 2023, when they reached the round of 16 before suffering a 5-4 aggregate loss against Mexican outfit Atlas.
