A WWE legend continued to wrestle despite breaking her back. In the past, many stars have battle through the pain to compete, sometimes to their own detriment.
Another name who belonged to this list is former Women’s Champion Lita. The high-flying women’s wrestler made a name for herself due to her athletic ability and did not hesitate to take some brutal bumps.
Thanks for the submission!
During her eight-year career as a full-time wrestler, she dealt with a lot of injuries. However, it wasn’t until a doctor told her that she came to know that she had a broken back.
In a conversation with Toronto Sun’s No Holds Barred, she recalled how a visit to a doctor made her realize that she was competing with an injury.
“I had times when it was really bothering me. I mean, even when I was actively competing. I remember my lower back; I went in because it was bothering me, and the doctor said, ‘Well, when did you break your back?’ And I was like, ‘I don’t know,’ and they’re like, ‘Yeah, I’m seeing here on the X-ray, you’ve broken your back.’ So, at some point I’d broken my back and just kept going, and that might have been why it was hurting me, and I had some issues with that,” she said.
Lita said she learned to prioritize her body and feeling good after her full-time career. She said it was important to give the body a proper time to heal, and she feels much better now.
Lita wants a return to WWE
Lita was last seen on WWE‘s main roster during an episode of RAW in April 2023. She was taken out backstage after an attack ahead of her tag team match against Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez.
Speaking on No Holds Barred, she mentioned that even though she was happy with her career and had a good time during her last run, she felt the way things ended was a “little weird.”
Lita mentioned that if the right opportunity is available, she would like to return to WWE to compete against its talented roster.
