Best Pokemon TCG Pocket Teal Mask Ogerpon ex deck guide: Strategy breakdown

1) Teal Mask Ogerpon ex
- HP: 130
- Ability – Soothing Wind: Every ally with any Energy attached recovers from all Special Conditions and gains immunity against them.
- Move: Energized Leaves
- Move Damage: 60+
- Move Effect: This attack does 60 more damage if both Active Pokemon have five or more energy attached
- Move Energy Cost: 2 Grass Energy
- Retreat Cost: 1 Energy
Teal Mask Ogerpon ex is the center stage of the deck with a decent 130 HP. Its Ability, Soothing Wind, removes and prevents all Special Conditions from your Pokemon that have any Energy attached. In a meta where burn, paralysis, and poison are frequently seen, this Ability provides valuable protection to your entire board.
Its move, Energized Leaves, has a base 60 damage for two Grass Energy. But the damage gets a +60 buff if both Active Pokemon have five or more energy combined. This buff is easy to trigger since most competitive core Pokemon require at least two or more Energy to attack.
2) Leafeon ex
- HP: 140
- Ability – Forest Breath: If in the Active Spot, this ability supplies one Grass Energy to any one of your Grass Pokemon once
- Move: Solar Beam
- Move Damage: 70
- Move Energy Cost: 1 Grass and 2 colorless Energy
- Retreat Cost: 1 Energy
Leafeon ex plays two critical roles: Generating Energy and acting as a back up secondary attacker. With 140 HP and a low Retreat Cost, it fits naturally into the deck’s early-game plan.
Its Ability, Forest Breath, allows you to supply one Grass Energy to one of your Grass Pokemon. This doubles the setup speed for both itself and Teal Mask Ogerpon ex.
Leafeon ex also evolves as early as possible using Eevee from Mega Rising, allowing you to immediately evolve after being played (as long as it isn’t turn one). Once active, Leafeon ex can deal a consistent 70 damage with Solar Beam and supply energy to others in the same turn.
3) Leafeon (Space-Time Smackdown)
- HP: 90
- Move: Leafy Cyclone
- Move Damage: 90
- Move Effect: This Pokemon can’t attack in the next turn
- Move Energy Cost: 1 Grass and 1 colorless Energy
- Retreat Cost: 1 energy
The regular Leafeon acts as a situational backup and, importantly, your only non-ex attacker that counters Oricorio Pom-Pom. With Leafy Cyclone, Leafeon can deal 90 damage for just two Energy, one-shotting most Basic Pokemon.
