Ric Flair’s emotional message sparks concern; WWE Hall of Famer’s wife steps in to clarify

Ric Flair’s emotional post about a wrestling legend left fans concerned. The Nature Boy is known to make a splash on social media every now and then, but his recent post caused an alarm.

Taking to X (Twitter), Flair shared a post about his in-ring rival Ricky Steamboat. The wording of the post left many fearing the worst, and they believed it was a eulogy to the Hall of Famer.

“We were an era that was lost but not forgotten… Because we were the best, back then and even now… Thanks for the memories ❤️ Ricky Steamboat 2-6-26 WOOOOO!” he wrote, sharing a photo of him and The Dragon.

Fans flooded the post and were left worried about the health of the former Intercontinental Champion. Thankfully, Steamboat’s wife quickly responded to offer a clarification on the issue and confirmed her husband was alright.

“This is Steamboat’s wife. I just wanted to come on here and say thank you to everyone for your concern. I also want to say that in the 11 years that I have been with Ricky, Flair has never been anything but extremely nice and very respectful to Ricky and also to me. I know he didn’t post this with any ill intent. On the upside, I got to chat with some of you which I enjoy immensely. Thanks to all of you who are now following me!” she wrote under Flair’s post.

Ric Flair and Ricky Steamboat had a legendary rivalry that spanned much of the late 70s and 80s in the NWA. Their trilogy of matches in 1989 is widely considered one of the best series of pro wrestling matches in history.

Ric Flair confirmed he will never wrestle again

During a signing event with K&S WrestleFest, Ric Flair revealed that he had been offered a match against Ricky Morton. This led to fan speculation that the 16-time World Champion was considering a return to the ring.

However, he shut down the speculation in a post on X. He noted that he will never wrestle again, clarifying the comments he made at K&S WrestleFest.

Flair last competed in the ring in July 2022 at an event billed as “Ric Flair’s Last Match” in Nashville, Tennessee. He teamed with Andrade El Idolo to defeat Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal in a tag team match.
