The Internationaux de Strasbourg 2026 moves into another important qualifying day with several big names trying to build momentum before Roland Garros. Emma Navarro, Maria Sakkari, Sara Bejlek, and Peyton Stearns headline the schedule, while the tournament itself has become one of the final clay stops before Paris.
Strasbourg has often produced surprise runs from players looking for confidence before the second Grand Slam of the season, and this year’s qualifying field feels especially competitive. With younger players pushing for breakthrough wins and experienced names trying to steady their form, Day 2 should bring some long battles and a few potential upsets on the clay courts in Strasbourg.
Thanks for the submission!
Here are the predictions for Qualifying Day 2 Internationaux de Strasbourg 2026
#1 Emma Navarro vs Sara Bejlek
In Paris at the Trophée Clarins, Emma Navarro defeated Lola Radivojevic 6-2, 7-6 before losing to Katie Volynets 6-3, 6-2. Earlier in Rome, she was beaten by Elisabetta Cocciaretto 6-3, 6-3 in a match where her second serve came under constant pressure. Navarro has also struggled to string wins together recently, but her ability to absorb pace and extend rallies remains valuable on clay.
Sara Bejlek’s clay season has been uneven as well, though the Czech left-hander still carries confidence from her breakthrough title run in Abu Dhabi earlier this year. On clay, she picked up a dominant 6-1, 6-1 win over Akasha Urhobo in Charleston, but losses to Belinda Bencic 7-6, 6-2 and Laura Siegemund 6-4, 6-4 exposed some inconsistency when rallies became physical.
In Paris last week, she was outplayed by Alina Charaeva 6-4, 6-0. Bejlek likes shortening points with her heavy backhand crosscourt angles, but her level can dip quickly if opponents keep redirecting pace into her forehand side. Navarro has already beaten Bejlek twice earlier in their careers, and this matchup still leans slightly toward the American.
Pick: Emma Navarro to win in straight sets
#2 Maria Sakkari vs Peyton Stearns
Maria Sakkari picked up a solid first-round win in Rome against Lilli Tagger 5-7, 6-3, 6-0 before losing badly to Elena Rybakina 6-4, 6-1 in the next round. Earlier in Madrid, Sakkari lost to Karolina Pliskova 6-4, 7-6, and she also suffered straight-set defeats this spring against Paula Badosa in Charleston and Alycia Parks in Miami.
Peyton Stearns has quietly built a stronger clay season than Sakkari so far. The American defeated Talia Gibson Tjen 6-4, 6-4 in Rome before taking out Madison Keys 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 in one of her best wins of the season.
Stearns already beat Sakkari earlier this season in Adelaide qualifying, winning 6-4, 6-3, and that result should give her confidence coming into this matchup. Sakkari still has the edge in experience and defensive coverage, but Stearns has been the steadier player throughout the clay swing and has handled pressure moments better this season.
If the American serves well, she has a real chance to control the baseline exchanges again.
Prediction: Peyton Stearns in three sets
#3 McCartney Kessler vs Oksana Selekhmeteva
In the Strasbourg qualifying, McCartney Kessler handled Renata Zarazua 7-5, 6-2 with clean baseline hitting and strong first-serve numbers.
Oksana Selekhmeteva arrives with confidence after beating Sofia Kenin 1-6, 6-4, 6-1 in qualifying, a match where she completely changed the tempo after a rough opening set. The Russian has been competitive throughout the clay season and usually defends well from deep positions, but Kessler’s flatter ball-striking could rush her on these courts.
Prediction: McCartney Kessler to win in 3 sets
#4 Lois Boisson vs Wang Xinyu
Prediction: Wang Xinyu in 3 sets
#5 Leolia Jeanjean vs Leylah Fernandez
Prediction: Leylah Fernandez in straight sets
#6 Yulia Putintseva vs Oleksandra Oliynykova
Prediction: Yulia Putintseva in straight sets
#7 Maya Joint vs Ann Li
Prediction: Maya Joint in 3 sets
#8 Talia Gibson vs Zhang Shuai
Prediction: Zhang Shuai in straight sets
#9 Anastasia Zakharova vs Daria Kasatkina
Prediction: Daria Kasatkina in straight sets
