There’s reason to believe that Madden NFL will improve the contractual negotiations in the 27. In the latest game, the developers are likely looking to incorporate franchise management.

4. Tyreek Hill drops out of the Top 5 speed list
Tyreek Hill was one of the fastest players in the NFL for a decade. The perennial Pro Bowler’s Madden NFL 26 97 speed rating reflected that as he was a regular at the top of the speed podium.
However, it’s hard to imagine Hill being among the Top 5 fastest players in the upcoming iteration. He suffered a season-ending injury in Week 4 of the 2025 campaign. Hill remains a free agent entering Year 11.
3. No rookie is surpassing Travis Hunter’s opening rating
Travis Hunter’s 84 overall was the highest launch rating for a rookie in over a decade. He earned it thanks to his proficiency at wide receiver and cornerback.
Looking at this year’s batch of rookies. It’s hard to imagine any of them starting out their Madden NFL journey with an 85 overall.
2. Coach DNA
According to Yahoo Sports, there may be a shift in coaching. In the latest iteration, Coach DNA is expected to be introduced.

1. The Kansas City Chiefs fall off
The Kansas City Chiefs were the joint-highest-rated team alongside the San Francisco 49ers in Madden NFL 26. The former missed out on the playoffs while the latter didn’t.
The Chiefs have major issues entering the 2026 season. Patrick Mahomes is injured, Travis Kelce is posting lower numbers, and there are questions around the team’s staying power.
So, you can expect Madden NFL 27 to reduce its individual ratings and, by extension, the team average. The pressure is on Andy Reid’s team.
