MBC’s courtroom thriller The Judge Returns has dropped episodes 11 and 12 on February 6 and 7, 2026. Ji Sung leads the cast alongside Park Hee-soon and Won Jin-ah.
The series follows Lee Han-yeong, a principled judge whose life is cut short after he challenges a crime-linked conglomerate. Instead of dying, he wakes up a decade earlier in his own younger body. With foreknowledge of future events, Han-yeong decides to rewrite fate by fighting corruption from the inside and exposing those who once seemed beyond the reach of the law.
The Judge Returns episodes 11–12 recap: Han-yeong takes down the former president as power games turn deadly
Episode 11 of The Judge Returns opens with Han-yeong shaken after discovering massive secret funds hidden in documents connected to the former president, the man Kang Shin-jin claims truly controls the country. The scale of the money confirms Han-yeong’s fear that the nation’s political and judicial systems are being manipulated from the shadows.
At the closed-door meeting of top political leaders, Han-yeong watches as the Minister of Land proposes developing a new area that is currently protected greenbelt territory. He instantly remembers that in his previous life, this exact redevelopment becomes a major corruption scandal. He realizes the elite now want to turn protected land into a profit-driven urban project.

After the meeting, Kang Shin-jin arranges for Han-yeong to meet the former president. However, the former president has already been warned about Han-yeong by judge Hwang who Han-yeong has exposed for forging his son’s academic records. Seeing Han-yeong in person, the former president is stunned that this seemingly ordinary judge is shaking the entire judicial system.
Later, over dinner, Han-yeong confronts Kang Shin-jin about the purpose of bringing him in the meeting. Shin-jin admits it is meant to show Han-yeong who really holds power and to make it clear that Han-yeong should now follow him. He then reveals his true ambition is to remove the former president and take control himself. Shin-jin asks Han-yeong to join him in building a new judiciary system under his leadership.
Later, Han-yeong and Prosecutor Jin-ah uncover a lead involving the S Group chairman’s son’s hidden slush fund in a private bank account. They move to arrest the son first, but their real target is the father. From his past life, Han-yeong knows the I Group chairman has a secret trust fund worth trillions.
After the son is arrested, the chairman panics and turns to Kang Shin-jin for help. Shin-jin uses the moment to his advantage, telling the chairman to temporarily “sacrifice” his son to protect the larger fortune. Though unwilling, the chairman agrees. Shin-jin promises that he will later arrange for the son’s release.
Realizing Shin-jin has begun making his move, Han-yeong decides to strike first at a shared enemy who is the former president. At the same time, the former president launches a large charity fund, claiming he has donated his entire life savings and urging others to contribute.

Han-yeong remembers from his past life that this fund is fraudulent. The front man will eventually be arrested for embezzlement but the former president escapes accountability. Determined to change that outcome, Han-yeong begins gathering evidence.
He secretly records proof that money raised through the charity is being transferred into shady private accounts. He then approaches the leader of the opposition party and asks him to release the documents. He also shares the documents woth media. The politician does so willingly and the media breaks the story nationwide, which launches investigations immediately.
As witnesses come forward, the charity hets seized and the evidence piles up, the former president panics and threatens Kang Shin-jin to help him. Shin-jin though happy about the situation promises to help him. However the president’s influence can no longer protect him and he is arrested.
Meanwhile, the S Group chairman’s son targets Prosecutor Jin-ah and sends an assassin to kill her. Jin-ah fights back trying to escape. She gets help as Han-yeong arrives with his friend just in time, subdues the attacker, and has him arrested.
At the same time, Kang Shin-jin decides he wants the S Group heir imprisoned for good. He manipulates one of the son’s aides into becoming a state witness. The confession proves devastating in court and as a result yhe S Group chairman’s son is sentenced to 20 years in prison and ordered to pay billions in fines.

Prosecutor Jin-ah then moves to arrest the S Group chairman over his huge hidden slush funds. The action immediately backfires, leading to Jin-ah’s suspension, as well as Prosecutor Park Seong-chul’s.
The final moments of episode 12 of The Judge Returns comes with a twist as despite the scandal and arrest, the former president returns to his office and once again takes control of a secret meeting with corrupt leaders. Kang Shin-jin, Han-yeong, and congratulate him, toasting yo his being free. Episodes 12 of The Judge Returns end on this note.
The Judge Returns airs its new episodes every Friday and Saturday at 9:50 p.m. KST. The drama is now heading into its finale, with the last two episodes, 13 and 14 scheduled to broadcast on February 13 and 14, 2026. The series can be streamed on Viki.
