Paris Saint-Germain head coach Luis Enrique says he is “not surprised” Arsenal have won the Premier League under Mikel Arteta ahead of the two sides meeting in the Champions League final.
The Spanish managers will go head-to-head in European football’s biggest club fixture as PSG attempt to retain the trophy they won last season.
Arsenal arrive in the final full of confidence after securing their first league title in 22 years, with Enrique praising the work Arteta has done in north London.
Enrique praises Arteta impact at Arsenal
Speaking before the final, Enrique said Arsenal fully deserved their domestic success after seeing off competition from Manchester City.
“I am not surprised, especially with what he has done this year,” Enrique said.
“They are worthy of winning the Premier League, the best team in the league. It was not easy with Man City on their tails.
“Arteta has been there six and a half years, and he knows them inside and out.”
PSG focused on retaining Champions League crown
Enrique was also asked about comments from Arteta suggesting Arsenal believe they can win the Champions League.
The PSG manager insisted his side require no extra motivation heading into the final.
“I don’t think there is any better motivation than winning the Champions League,” Enrique added.
“But we will see. We will see who wins.
“We have won our leagues and I will focus on what is best for our team.”
PSG are aiming to become the first French side to successfully defend the Champions League title in the modern era.

PSG aiming to repeat semi-final success
The clubs met in the semi-finals of the 2024-25 competition, when PSG secured a 3-1 aggregate victory on their way to lifting the trophy.
Enrique acknowledged the familiarity between the two teams but stressed finals are often unpredictable occasions.
“It is an opponent we know very well,” he said.
“We played against them last year and the year before.
“I think we can tweak our performance up front and at the back as well and that’s what we do.
“In terms of managing a final, it is different, and it is about making the most of it, but for the Champions League final you never know when you’re going to be back.”
