Episodes 11 and 12 of Single’s Inferno 5 premiered on Netflix on February 10, confirming the final pairing. Go-eun ultimately chose Sung-min, despite earlier expectations pointing toward I-geon. Until the final decision, Sung-min and Hyeon-woo remained under serious consideration. However, the turning point emerged during a second Paradise outing.
While spending time with Go-eun, repeated admiration for Ha-eun entered the conversation. During his second Paradise date with Go-eun, the conversation repeatedly circled back to Ha-eun, with her looks openly praised and described as “cute.” As the date progressed, Go-eun’s reactions noticeably shifted. Up until that date, she had been gradually leaning toward I-geon, but many now believe that moment pushed her away. He kept repeating the same thing the next day in the inferno, too.
Soon after, attention moved elsewhere. By the finale, Sung-min stood as the option. Go-eun left the Inferno with him, closing that chapter. Online discussions later highlighted how that single date altered the trajectory. Many traced the outcome back to misplaced focus rather than a lack of interest.
“Igeon pulling this sh*t makes me so glad he didn’t get chosen. His audacity is truly shocking considering he was only just an option atp. Biggest fumble of the season. #singlesinferno5,” an X user commented.
Fans keep commenting on how badly I-geon “fumbled.”
Others are calling I-geon a walking “red flag” and saying they’re glad Go-eun didn’t choose him.
Kim Go-eun’s love triangle journey in Single’s Inferno 5
Long before appearing on Single’s Inferno 5, Kim Go-eun was already a recognizable figure. The 26-year-old works as a fashion and beauty model and was raised as the daughter of a nationally respected athlete, retired footballer Kim Hyun-soo. Her own rise into public view began in 2022, when she finished as second runner-up at the Miss Korea pageant.
The casting choice also aligned with the show’s pattern, as season five features fellow Miss Korea alumni Choi Mina Sue and Park Hee-sun. Go-eun emerged as one of Single’s Inferno 5‘s most pursued contestants. Early episodes showed consistent interest from optician Woo Sung-min and handball coach Shin Hyeon-woo.
By the Truth Game in episode six, the situation had developed into a clear triangle. It expanded further when actor Jo I-geon entered as the male Game Changer in episode seven and selected Go-eun for Paradise. The dynamic shifted again in episode eight, when Hyeon-woo finally joined Go-eun in Paradise, although his direct approach appeared to make her uncomfortable.
Episode nine raised the stakes as all three suitors competed in the Trench Tug of War challenge. I-geon secured first place and selected Go-eun once more, while Hyeon-woo chose to forgo Paradise entirely. This marked a rare moment for the series. During the second Paradise date, Go-eun and I-geon appeared noticeably more relaxed, leading viewers to reassess the frontrunners. Even so, her feelings stayed largely unreadable until now.
