AEW star Nick Wayne is one of the hottest prospects in wrestling right now. Today, the 20-year-old celebrates a major milestone.
Nick Wayne is one of the first names you think of when it comes to young rising talents set for future superstardom. Wayne, who began his journey in All Elite Wrestling back in 2023, quickly broke onto the scene under the tutelage of Christian Cage as part of his now seemingly defunct Patriarchy faction. In 2024, Wayne tasted his first taste of championship success when the Patriarchy (himself, Cage, and Luchasaurus) won the AEW Trios Championship. A year later, Wayne won his first singles championship, the ROH World Television Championship on April 17 at the Spring Breakthru edition of Collision, defeating Komander. The 20-year-old has now held the title for 300 days, hitting a major milestone in Tony Khan’s promotion.
In the latter half of 2025, Wayne was coming into his own as the new leader of the Patriarchy after betraying Cage at All In. However, in August 2025, Wayne broke his foot and has been out of action since.
Tony Khan on Nick Wayne’s return to AEW
Nick Wayne’s AEW career was about to enter a major upward trajectory before his foot injury derailed his supposed push in the promotion. While there are no latest updates on when we can see Wayne back, Tony Khan mentioned in December last year that it could be expected soon.
Speaking on ROH’s Final Battle media call, the CEO of All Elite Wrestling said:
“I didn’t know that a few months ago that was gonna be the case, or we probably would have crowned an Interim TV Champion for when he is back. We’re at the point now where I think Nick is getting close, hopefully to coming back, and he’s a great, young wrestler.” [H/T – Fightful]
From all of us at Sportskeeda Wrestling, we congratulate Nick Wayne on this major milestone.
