This Minecraft mod increases item stack sizes

Minecraft has all kinds of items and blocks that you can gather. While most of these items can be stacked up to 64 units in a single inventory slot, some do not. The game has a very interesting approach to stacking items, which can be quite frustrating and seem unecessary. While most items can be stacked up to 64 units, others cannot be stacked at all. This means that one unit of that item fills up the inventory slot.

Thankfully, Minecraft supports mods, which allow the community to come up with all kinds of solutions. One particular mod called Sensible Stackables somewhat balances the stacking disparity in the game. Here are more details about the Minecraft mod.

Items like potions, beds, saddles, etc., cannot be stacked in one inventory slot. This means that if you want to carry two beds, they will take up two inventory slots instead of merging into one. This is where the Sensible Stackable mod comes into play.

The mod allows you to stack otherwise unstackable items into one inventory slot. It also consist of configuration files in which you can change the value of stackable items to anything. This means that you can set an item’s stack value in the thousands and carry it in-game with ease.

Here is a list of all the unstackable items that become stackable using this mod and their default unit values:

  • Potions: 3 unit stack
  • Saddle: 16 unit stack
  • Harness: 16 unit stack
  • Boats: 16 unit stack
  • Minecarts: 16 unit stack
  • Beds: 16 unit stack
  • Stews and soups: 16 unit stack
  • Enchanted books: 64 unit stack
  • Ender pearls: 64 unit stack
  • Snowball: 64 unit stack
  • Egg: 64 unit stack
  • Horse armor: 64 unit stack
  • Music discs: 64 unit stack
