Team India all-rounder Shivam Dube found himself stranded in the middle of the pitch after a colossal and ugly mix-up with Rinku Singh, eventually leading to a run-out in the T20 World Cup 2026 clash against Namibia. The explosive southpaw was dismissed for 23 runs off 16 deliveries at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, on Thursday, February 12.
Rinku Singh joined Shivam Dube at the crease after Hardik Pandya was dismissed in the 19th over, courtesy of a stunning catch by Dylan Leicher in the deep. Facing Namibia captain Gerhard Erasmus’ awkward slingy action, the new batter struck a drive to the cover region.
Uncertainty crept in among the batters after a brief misfield inside the circle. While both players were initially hesitant, Dube was encouraged to try to get back on strike, only to be sent back by his partner. The left-handed batter had already committed at this point, and was far away from the crease at the bowler’s end.
Despite turning back and trying to make his way back, he was not even in the frame when Erasmus whipped off the bails after collecting the ball from the fielder. Have a look at the dismissal right here:
Shivam Dube was recently run out in the fourth T20I against New Zealand in Vizag, as well, in an unfortunate manner after Harshit Rana’s full-blooded straight hit struck the bowler’s hand before hitting the stumps.
Team India suffer massive collapse towards the end after Dube’s dismissal to finish with 209-9 in IND vs NAM T20 World Cup 2026 match
Shivam Dube’s dismissal meant that Namibia struck twice in two deliveries to gain some momentum towards the end of the innings. However, India lost the plot completely, losing three more wickets in the space of seven deliveries to finish with a first-innings score of 209.
The late collapse meant that India scored only 10 runs from the last two overs, and fell short of their lofty expected score despite Hardik Pandya’s heroics in the death overs.
