Alex de Minaur vs Ugo Humbert preview

Top seed Alex de Minaur will take on Ugo Humbert in the semifinals of the ABN AMRO Open 2026.
De Minaur beat Arthur Fils and Stan Wawrinka in straight sets to book a quarterfinal showdown with home favorite Botic van de Zandschulp. The Aussie dropped his first set of the tournament after getting outplayed in the opening set.
De Minaur regrouped in the second set, initially wasting a set point in the 12th game but getting the job done in the tie-break to level the proceedings. Even though blew an early break advantage in the decider, it didn’t harm him in the long run. He bagged the last three games of the match to register a 3-6, 7-6 (4), 7-5 win.
Humbert upset fourth seed Daniil Medvedev in three sets in the first round, and followed it up with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Guy Den Ouden. He was up against Christopher O’Connel in the quarterfinals. The Frenchman needed only one break of serve in his favor to take the first set. He dished out a breadstick in the second set to register a 6-4, 6-1 win.
Alex de Minaur vs Ugo Humbert head-to-head

Alex de Minaur vs Ugo Humbert prediction

De Minaur passed his first real test of the week with flying colors. He won 75 percent of his first serve points during his win over van de Zandschulp, although he had 15 winners compared to 33 unforced errors. He improved his record for the year to 9-2 with his latest win, and advanced to his first semifinal of the season.
Humbert played his best match of the week to oust O’Connell. He didn’t face a single break point, won 96 percent of points behind his first serve, struck 12 winners against 21 unforced errors, and improved his record this year to 8-4. He will now aim to advance to his second final of the season following his runner-up finish in Adelaide last month.
While de Minaur leads their head-to-head 5-2, they’re tied 2-2 on hardcourts. However, the Aussie plays some of his best tennis in Rotterdam. He has a 16-5 record here and made the final for the past two years. He lost to Jannik Sinner in 2024, and Carlos Alcaraz beat him in 2025. With the tour’s best two players out of his way, de Minaur is the favorite to go all the way, starting with a win against Humbert.
Pick: Alex de Minaur to win in straight sets.
