“For me, I keep my standards at a high level. Fighting, I think, because like at my age, everyone I think is retiring already, but I’m still here and still on top of the level. I’m still a champion. I think it proves a lot to the young generation that comes very far to be here.”

Superbon also shared some sound advice for the next generation of fighters hoping to reach the heights he’s conquered.

He continued:

“Like I see many fighters who come very far to be the champion or to be on top of their match. Make sure you guys train hard [and] properly before you get there. Make sure that you guys would be professional until you retire.”

Superbon says Johan Ghazali will follow in his footsteps

Aside from continuing his legendary career, Superbon has also been quietly managing fighters who could also one day achieve greatness.

Among those is Johan ‘Jojo’ Ghazali, who has shown stark improvements since taking his talents to the Bangkok-based Superbon Training Camp.

According to the 35-year-old Thai, Ghazali has all the qualities necessary to become the next big superstar in ‘The Art of Eight Limbs’.

The ONE featherweight kickboxing kingpin told ONE Championship:

“The more he fights, the better. You might not see the full results this year. He’s going to be a powerhouse superstar. In four to five years, he’ll be a World Champion who will dominate the division for a long time.”
