NFL GM sheds light on Raiders’ $106,500,000 star’s message to Tom Brady

Las Vegas Raider fans may have to face a harsh reality when it comes to Maxx Crosby. The team’s star defensive end may never play in silver and black again. That’s according to an unnamed general manager who says the five-time Pro Bowler sent a clear message to minority owner Tom Brady last week.

“He told Tom Brady he will never play for the Raiders again,” claimed the anonymous GM.

Reportedly, Crosby said that he’ll retire before returning to the team again. Last week, he hinted that he might try another sport, with the star taking a liking to UFC.

While he appears to want out of Vegas, moving him may not be as simple as it seems.

“I’m not sure they’re actually going to trade him,” added the unnamed GM.

Crosby’s declaration is drawing parallels with a bold statement another defensive stud made last off-season. Myles Garrett requested a trade from the Cleveland Browns in 2025 but later changed his mind. Instead, the two-time Defensive Player of the Year signed a four-year, $160 million extension with Cleveland.

The difference is that Crosby’s not fed up with this team’s countless losing seasons, but aparently something else which transpired in 2025. The team placed him on injured reserve for the final two games of the regular season. It appeared they did that and shut down tight end Brock Bowers for the season at the same time, with one objective in mind: acquire the first overall draft pick in 2026.

If that was the goal, they succeeded, finishing just above the New York Jets to have the first selection on April 23. Last March, Crosby signed a three-year extension with the Raiders for $106.5 million, with $91.5 million guaranteed.

Analyst proposes one potential Crosby trade

There are sure to be plenty of teams pursuing a trade for Maxx Crosby. While the Los Angeles Rams don’t appear to be one of those in need of his services, it’s not out of the realm of possibilities.

Their general manager, Les Snead, has said that he’s willing to make big moves to get this team back to the top of the NFL mountain. The Rams also have two first-round picks in the upcoming drafts they may want to part with them. As such, Moe Moton of Bleacher Report believes they may be a team the Raiders want to negotiate with.

He thinks the Rams could trade their 2026 No. 29 pick, a 2027 1st-round pick and edge rusher Byron Young for Crosby and a 2027 third-rounder.

Crosby has registered double digits for sacks in three of the previous four seasons. Young, meanwhile, had a career-high 12 sacks in 2025 for the Rams.
