Atlanta Falcons linebacker James Pearce Jr. was arrested on Saturday night in Doral, Florida on two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, aggravated stalking and eluding police after a dispute with his ex-girlfriend.
On Sunday morning, a clip of Pearce’s mother, Kizzy Morris at the NFL Honors ceremony circulated on social media. Peare was nominated for Defensive Rookie of the Year and his mother spoke on stage about his character and how proud she was of him.

“I am so proud of all my son has accomplished. But I’m even prouder of the man he’s became. James has a heart of gold, deep love for family and friends and true resilience in the face of doubt. Junior, man, you have so much success ahead of you. I love you, son,” Morris said at the NFL Honors ceremony.

Just 48 hours later he was arrested on serious charges after a domestic dispute with his ex-girlfriend. Fans on X flocked to the comment section to voice their opinions on her comments.
The fans continued to criticize Morris’ comments, noticing that she honored his character with passion and confidence. Others wondered if her words were forced.
“She said it with such conviction & enthusiasm!” one fan proclaimed.
“I think the Mothers demeanor is telling the story we saw. It’s almost like it’s forced,” said another.
James Pearce Jr. was arrested by the Doral Police Department after attempting to elude police. The Atlanta Falcons released a statement that they are fully aware of the situation but, won’t be making any further comment on the case.
“That aged fast. And not in a good way,” one person wrote.
“Those praises for his character aged terribly after his recent felony arrest….,” said another.

On Sunday afternoon, hours before the NFL world will turn on Super Bowl LX, news out of Florida surfaced surrounding James Pearce Jr.’s late night arrest.
The Atlanta Falcons linebacker went in front of a judge and was granted $20,500 bail with direct orders that he is not allowed to contact the victim of the domestic dispute allegations.
The rookie linebacker who was drafted in the first-round by the Falcons and looked to have a bright future ahead of him.
