Mercedes Mone’s blockbuster championship announced; but not in AEW

Mercedes Mone has been absent from AEW TV for a while. She is now set to defend her title outside the company.

Mercedes Mone has been on an incredible run ever since she joined AEW. She has been a dominant force in the ring and went on to win championships across several other independent promotions. However, the CEO has not been having a good time in the past few weeks after losing the TBS Championship to Willow Nightingale. To make matters worse, she was embarrassed the following week when she was slammed onto some celebration cake. Following this, she announced that she would be stepping away from the company for a while.

Amid her absence, Winnipeg Pro Wrestling has announced that the AEW star will defend her WPW Women’s Championship against the winner of the Women’s VOYAGEUR CUP tournament on March 31st.
