Leeds United are now eyeing a summer move to sign a Manchester United defender in a move that would see one player cross the divide between the two rival clubs.
Leeds keeping close tabs on Man Utd defender
It’s been an excellent campaign at Elland Road so far this season. Whilst clubs continue to implode around them, Leeds’ faith in Daniel Farke is continuing to pay off.
The German has transformed his side since implementing a back five system and that was on show once again against Chelsea in midweek, as the Whites salvaged a shock draw.
It goes without saying that survival will make an impact on the pitch, but it also can’t be ignored just what it would do for Leeds away from the action.
Stability and not just survival in the Premier League would unlock an entirely new window of opportunity for the 49ers at Elland Road. It would allow them to invest in Farke’s squad and perhaps follow in the footsteps of Brighton, Brentford and Aston Villa be enjoying a sensational rise.
That work could start this summer if Farke’s men continue their stride towards safety, and that could result in arrivals such as Fulham’s Harry Wilson among others.
The Fulham star is out of contract this summer and Leeds were reportedly among the clubs interested in landing his signature in January, with another chance potentially arriving in the coming months. Meanwhile, there’s also interest in James Trafford, according to recent reports.
The Manchester City goalkeeper has fallen down the pecking order since returning to The Etihad last summer and could be looking for a quick exit in the summer. And Manchester could be where it’s at for the Yorkshire club this summer if reports are anything to go by.
Leeds have struck gold on Elland Road star who’s worth way more than Okafor
Leeds United have a star who’s improved massively over the last couple of years.
According to Sports Boom, Leeds are keeping close tabs on Tyrell Malaca, who is set to become a free agent at the end of his Man United contract this summer.
Malacia furious with Jason Wilcox
It’s been a torrid time for Malacia. The left-back was initially a mainstay at Old Trafford, before a knee injury forced him to miss a staggering 500 days and a total of 70 games – derailing his career entirely.
Since that injury, the Dutchman has played just three Premier League games in the last two seasons and desperately needs a move to get back on track.
That is why he was furious with Jason Wilcox on deadline day. The left-back was reportedly preparing to travel to Turkey to secure a move away from Old Trafford, only for the Man United chief to scrap his transfer plans and leave Malacia incredibly frustrated.
When the summer arrives, Malacia’s future will be in his own hands and that’s when Leeds could land the Man United defender in an attempt to get him back to his best form.
