Chelsea are reportedly set to face competition from domestic rivals Newcastle United for the services of Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic.
Vlahovic looks set to become a free agent at the end of the season once his current contract at Juventus expires. His experience and record of scoring in the Serie A have attracted him to several clubs across Europe.
Thanks for the submission!
According to Calciomercato, Chelsea are exploring options to bolster their frontline and have identified Vlahovic as a target while inquiring about the potential costs of a deal. Newcastle are also seeking to complement their existing attack and have made contact about the forward.
With Vlahovic in the final five months of his contract, it is said that both English sides can negotiate a pre-contract with the Serbia international ahead of a potential summer move. The report, however, added that the least likely option remains a renewal with Juventus, but there is a possibility that the parties could unexpectedly reach a deal.
The interest for Vlahovic is not limited only abroad, with AC Milan also reportedly monitoring any developments regarding the player’s future.
Vlahovic joined Juventus from Fiorentina in 2022 for a reported fee of €83.5 million. However, his current market value stands at €35 million, as per Transfermarkt.
So far this season, Vlahovic has six goals in 17 appearances across all competitions but hasn’t played since November after suffering a serious left adductor injury during Juventus’ 2-1 league win against Cagliari.
Chelsea learn asking price for Newcastle United star – Reports
Chelsea have been slapped with a huge asking price for target Sandro Tonali ahead of the summer transfer window. Tonali was the subject of transfer speculation on the final day of the January transfer window, with The Athletic reporting that the midfielder was offered to Arsenal by his agent.
While his agent has since denied claims of talks with Arsenal, The Sun reports that Chelsea are also monitoring Tonali closely. Tonali has established himself as a key player in Eddie Howe’s squad since his £55m move from AC Milan in 2023, helping Newcastle win the Carabao Cup and qualify for the Champions League last season.
According to The Sun, Newcastle have no intentions of selling the Italian, and should he ask to leave, the Magpies would demand nothing less than £100 million to sanction his departure. This is reportedly due to him penning an extended contract, which runs until 2029 with the option for an additional 12 months, during his ban.
