CM Punk addresses his WWE retirement plans

CM Punk has addressed his WWE retirement plans. Following the recent retirements of John Cena and AJ Styles, fans are wondering who will be the next star to hang up their wrestling boots.

At 47 years of age, CM Punk knows that he has a few more years left as an active performer in the business. Last month, in an interview, he mentioned that he doesn’t see himself wrestling after he turns 50.

This led to fans speculating that it may not be too long before the Second City Saint bids farewell to the squared circle. During an appearance on No-Contest Wrestling, Punk was asked about the possibility of retirement and whether he would have a clear farewell run.

He mentioned how retirement tours are a norm in Japanese wrestling culture and said the concept has only recently caught on with the Western promotions. The World Heavyweight Champion then said he doesn’t plan to retire anytime soon and likes to keep things shrouded in mystery.

“With me, I really don’t know. I almost don’t like talking about it because I don’t think it’s going to be anytime soon. And the way our business is, I like to keep some things shrouded in secrecy and mystery. So we’ll have to wait and see,” he said.

Punk said that he is enjoying the run of his life and has no desire to step away from it at the moment.

“I’m just trying to keep myself in one piece because I feel like I’m on the run of my life. I think I’m doing the best work I’ve ever done. Why would I want to step away from that now?” he added.

CM Punk’s WrestleMania 42 match confirmed

At Royal Rumble, Roman Reigns emerged victorious in the 30-men battle royal. Reigns’ second win in the competition meant he got to pick which Championship he would go after at WrestleMania 42.

Fans didn’t have to wait long to find out, as this week on RAW, the Tribal Chief made it clear that he is coming for CM Punk’s World Heavyweight Championship at the Show of Shows.

This will be the second year in a row where Punk and Reigns will square off at WrestleMania, having headlined night one of the extravaganza last year in a Triple Threat match involving Seth Rollins.
