AEW provided an update on the potential return of Will Ospreay during this week’s Dynamite, and The Aerial Assassin reacted with a message. Ospreay has been out of action for over six months now.
Will Ospreay last competed in a multi-man lights out steel cage match at Forbidden Door in August 2025. After Ospreay’s team won, he was brutally taken out by the Death Riders before going off TV as well. It was later revealed that The Aerial Assassin will be taking time off because he had to undergo neck surgery.
While Will Ospreay is still on the road to recovery, AEW teased his highly anticipated return during the latest episode of Dynamite. Tony Khan‘s promotion aired a video package featuring clips of Ospreay in the hospital and stated that the timetable of his return is still uncertain despite a successful neck surgery, but he is still grinding:
“Following successful neck surgery, there’s still no clear timetable for his return, but @WillOspreay is grinding every day to make his way back to All Elite Wrestling!” the statement read.

Bobby Lashley offered high praise for absent AEW star
During his recent appearance on the Mega Powers podcast, Bobby Lashley put over the absent AEW star, Will Ospreay, as the potential biggest babyface of Tony Khan’s promotion. Lashley praised Ospreay, saying he checks all the boxes:
“Will Ospreay really, and it’s not just because it’s y’all, he’s a- unless there’s something else that I don’t know, my interaction with him, and I’ve seen how he does stuff, very respectful, and that’s why people get behind him. Think of how big of a star you can make him. Think of how f****ing big of a star you can make him. He checks all the boxes,” said Bobby.
Bobby Lashley has also been off TV since Full Gear 2025. Only time will tell when both Lashley and Will Ospreay will be back in All Elite Wrestling.
