We are just a few hours away from the upcoming edition of the WWE Premium Live Event, Clash in Italy 2026. The PLE will take place live at the Inalpi Arena in Turin on May 31st.
The card features five matches: four championship bouts and one singles match. Roman Reigns will be defending his World Heavyweight Championship and putting his Tribal Chief title on the line against Jacob Fatu in a Tribal Combat match. Gunther is set to test Cody Rhodes as a titleholder as he faces the American Nightmare for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
Thanks for the submission!
In addition, Rhea Ripley will put her Women’s Championship on the line against Jade Cargill in their WrestleMania rematch. At the same time, Becky Lynch will collide with Sol Ruca, with her Women’s Intercontinental Championship up for grabs. Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi will lock horns in a rematch at the Clash in Italy.
That said, it would be safer to say the Italy-based premium live event is already one of the best PLEs of this year so far, and it promises a must-see spectacle.
With WWE’s next premium live event mere hours away, let’s take a look at six last-minute predictions in this listicle and how the card could be a jaw-dropping edition.
#6. Gunther dethrones Cody Rhodes
The Ring General has been on a massive momentum for quite some time, and he has been an unstoppable force. In just a matter of time, he has retired legends such as Goldberg, John Cena, and AJ Styles.
The former World Heavyweight Champion is not an easy opponent to beat for the Prodigal Son. Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes’s saga was cut short after the American Nightmare pulled a shocker by beating The Viper and retaining his Undisputed WWE Championship.
Clash PLE’s had an unsaid tradition of bringing surprises. From Solo Sikoa joining forces with Roman Reigns. At Clash in France, Becky Lynch appeared in a black hood and helped his husband to retain his World Heavyweight Championship in a fatal-four way match.
The 2026 Clash in Italy could see a similar surprise with Randy Orton interfering in The American Nightmare’s title defence against the Ring General and costing him his contest against Gunther.
This would indeed be a shocking turn of events, when The Career Ki**er would end Rhodes’s reign with Randy Orton’s interference, setting up Orton vs. Rhodes 2 for SummerSlam.
Meanwhile, Gunther winning the title would make a lot of sense as he has three icons put him over; also, he would put a new perspective on the SmackDown’s main-title scene and open new possibilities as the division has been stuck in similar storylines since Rhodes has been holding the strap for a long time.
#5. Rhea Ripley beats Jade Cargill
The Nightmare defeated Jade Cargill at WrestleMania 42 to become the Women’s Champion. The Storm returned to the Stamford-based promotion and once again targeted Mami.
Rhea Ripley, Charlotte Flair, and Alexa Bliss teamed up to take on Jade Cargill, Michin, and B-Fab in a six-woman tag team match at the recent edition of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event. Adding to her confidence, The Storm and team picked a massive win over team Eradicator heading into their Women’s championship rematch.
However, in the singles match, Ripley may showcase to Cargill why she is the best and that her Mania win wasn’t a fluke. The Nightmare can beat the Big Jade clean and retain her strap, as she has a lot to prove in Reign. Meanwhile, Jade has already had a lengthy reign, which makes sense for her to capture the title.
#4. WWE icon returns
Reports suggest that the Stamford-based promotion has been pushing popular Italian professional wrestling star Santino Marella. The comic star has made a few appearances in WWE NXT despite being signed under TNA’s umbrella.
Amidst the current rumors and reports, it’s now almost official that Marella is in Italy for an event in the same city, which strengthens the buzz and adds fuel to the rumors about the icon’s return.
Might be Meralla could have a segment with Danhausen, and both the comic characters may end up producing a perfect viral moment, which may include The Miz and Kit Wilson.
#3. Brock Lesnar beats Oba Femi
Oba Femi shocked the world after he managed to overpower Brock Lesnar in less than 5 minutes and beat him clean at WrestleMania 42. This broke the Beast Incarnate, and he retired, leaving his boots and gloves in the ring, and even broke down into tears.
When the fans expected Lesnar to retire, he returned and attacked Oba Femi from behind and laid a challenge to face him at Clash in Italy. Reports suggest that fans may see The Beast Incarnate more after the Italy-based event, as well, which means that Brock may beat Femi, and he could continue his stint in the Stamford-based promotion.
#2. Becky Lynch retains her WWE title
Sol Ruca and Becky Lynch are all set to lock horns in a rematch for the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship. While Ruca brings a hungry and fresh vibe, she might fail to capture the title, as The Man would play her dirty game to retain her strap.
Lynch’s win would add more depth to the Becky-Sol saga, and the two could build a personal storyline in the coming weeks, compiling a personal saga. The two could end up having a trilogy match at WWE SummerSlam 2026.
#1. Jacob Fatu may join The Bloodline
The Samoan Werewolf is engaged in a personal rivalry with World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns and had competed against him at Backlash. However, he failed to beat him, and now the stakes are even higher as cousins are all set to collide in a rematch with the strap and Tribal Chief title on the line in a Tribal combat match at Clash in Italy.
The OTC might embarrass The Tribal Wolf once again and now finally force him to become a part of his Bloodline and serve him as the Tribal Chief, as Reigns had made his condition clear before signing the contract for the rematch that if Fatu loses, he would need to serve him.
