Michael ‘Venom’ Page doesn’t believe he’s in the UFC’s good books and recently explained why he thinks that’s the case.
Page is among the most exciting fighters to watch in the UFC and is known for his unique striking skills. The Englishman boasts a 24-3 record as a professional, with 13 of those wins coming via knockout. He’s coming off a unanimous decision win over Jared Cannonier at UFC 319 last August.
Page is now set to face Sam Patterson in a welterweight contest at UFC London next month. However, Page believes he’s been booked against a “weird” opponent and suspects he’s not in the promotion’s good books anymore. In an interview with MMA Junkie, the Englishman said:
“I don’t feel like I’m in good favor with the UFC at the moment… You look at the co-main event… You look at the whole card [UFC London] in general and it’s not the most exciting. I’m being positioned on the card in a weird way, and I’ve been given an opponent who is a bit of a weird opponent as well. I just wanted to fight and didn’t want to wait, but it just feels like I’ve upset somebody.”

When Joe Rogan called Michael ‘Venom’ Page the “biggest puzzle” in the sport
Last August, Joe Rogan shared his thoughts on Michael ‘Venom’ Page and credited the Englishman as the “biggest puzzle” in mixed martial arts.
In an episode of The Joe Rogan Experience podcast (JRE #2364), the UFC commentator lauded Page’s creative striking skills and said:
“You’ve got Michael ‘Venom’ Page, who’s like the biggest puzzle in the entire sport. That guy, good luck training for that guy. Just good luck. Super tall welterweight who moves like nobody, who was a world point-fighting champion… He’s super creative, and he also knows how to wrestle now, knows jiu-jitsu now. So now he’s a mixed martial arts fighter, but he’s got this one skill set that’s crazy unique… What MVP is doing is something totally different. Like, you can’t even touch him.”
