“This will be an explosive fight”

Danny Kingad guarantees fireworks when he meets ‘Wolf Warrior’ Hu Yong this Friday.

‘The King’ squares off against the Fighting Bros Club martial artist in a flyweight MMA joust at ONE Fight Night 40: Buntan vs. Hemetsberger II on Prime Video inside Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium on Feb. 13.

Both flyweights enter this clash desperate for a bounce-back win after recent setbacks—Kingad suffered consecutive losses to Adriano Moraes and divisional king Yuya Wakamatsu, while Hu rides a two-fight skid against Sanzhar Zakirov and Reece McLaren.

In his pre-fight interview with ONE Championship, ‘The King’ explained why their shared circumstances guarantee an unforgettable battle.

“Expect that this will be an explosive fight. We’re both coming off losses, and we’re both hungry. I’m very excited to do what I do best and get my career back on track,” the 30-year-old Filipino told the promotion.

Whether their shared hunger produces the explosive battle Danny Kingad promises remains to be seen.

However, both stars never fail to put on a show when they strap on the four-ounce gloves, so fans should expect non-stop action when Kingad and Hu trade leather this Friday.

Danny Kingad “hungry” for redemption vs. Hu Yong

Danny Kingad believes he’s in a must-win situation when he takes to the ring against Hu Yong at ONE Fight Night 40.

“I’m feeling nothing but excitement. My last two fights didn’t go according to plan. So, I’m hungry to redeem myself. I am pushing myself to the limits in training because I badly want to win this fight. Winning is the most important thing for me right now,” he added in the same interview with ONE Championship.

ONE Fight Night 40 will be available to all active Amazon Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada for free.

In the main event, strawweight Muay Thai queen Stella Hemetsberger seeks two-sport glory against ONE women’s strawweight kickboxing world champion Jackie Buntan.

The Austrian slugger delivered a five-round clinic to stun Buntan in their first encounter last year and claim the Muay Thai title.

Before they renew their rivalry, Nico Carrillo and Shadow Singha Mawynn collide for the ONE interim featherweight Muay Thai world title.
