Kid Rock recently denied rumors of lip syncing during his performance at Turning Point USA’s All-American Halftime Show, which the organization put up in protest of Bad Bunny headlining the Super Bowl Halftime Show on February 8, 2026.
Several viewers who watched the TPUSA event accused Kid Rock of lip syncing when he performed his 1999 hit Bawitdaba, noting that the rapper heavily relied on a pre-recorded track and pointing out that he raised his microphone to his mouth for half the song. However, the rapper claimed the error was due to an audio syncing issue and denied allegations of lip syncing when he appeared on Fox News on February 9, 2026.
During his appearance on Fox News’ The Ingraham Angle, Kid Rock claimed the audio was out of sync, and added that he was willing to prove the haters wrong by performing the track live from his home in Nashville along with his DJ.
“It was out of sync. And actually, just to have some fun with the haters — I can’t answer all the trolls, but it’s gonna be some fun. My DJ, who actually raps that song with me, he was not lit up. He’s coming to Nashville tonight, flying in, and we’re gonna do that live in my living room and I’m gonna post it tomorrow to show people exactly how this works,” Kid Rock said.
Kid Rock further said it was very difficult for Turning Point USA’s production crew to sync the audio because he was “jumping around the stage like a rabid monkey.” The rapper also claimed that he told the team about the audio being out of sync and asked them to fix it, saying:
“It would have been super easy to sync it up, if it was pre-recorded. It was very difficult for the Turning Point production crew, who by the way I can’t say enough good things about, but was very difficult for them. I’m jumping around the stage like a rabid monkey, rapping my song, and I’m taking breaths, and my DJ is filling in the other parts of it. I even told them when I saw the rough cut, I was like, ‘You guys got to work on that sync. It’s off.’”
Meanwhile, a Variety report dated February 8, 2026, stated that the All-American Halftime Show was pre-taped in Atlanta.
Kid Rock’s All-American Halftime Show garnered over 6 million concurrent viewers during the livestream
According to a New York Times report, Turning Point USA’s All-American Halftime Show received over 6.1 million concurrent viewers during the livestream. In comparison, initial reports suggest that Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show, which featured cameos and guest appearances from Ricky Martin and Lady Gaga, is projected to have 135.4 million viewers.
If the initial reports are correct, this could break Kendrick Lamar‘s record of the most-watched halftime show after the rapper drew 133.3 million viewers when he headlined the halftime show in 2025.
Meanwhile, President Donald Trump was also spotted seemingly watching Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl performance despite publicly condemning the rapper’s show. According to People Magazine, a video of Trump seated at a Super Bowl watch party that played the Puerto Rican rapper’s show on TV went viral on social media.
It is unclear whether the president tuned in to watch the TPUSA halftime show. This came even as White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said that Trump would “much prefer a Kid Rock performance over Bad Bunny” during a press conference on February 5.
Trump himself took to Truth Social to publicly call out Bad Bunny’s show, dubbing it “absolutely terrible.” He added:
“The Super Bowl Halftime Show is absolutely terrible, one of the worst, EVER!. It makes no sense, is an affront to the Greatness of America, and doesn’t represent our standards of Success, Creativity, or Excellence. Nobody understands a word this guy is saying, and the dancing is disgusting, especially for young children that are watching from throughout the U.S.A., and all over the World.”
In other news, Kid Rock said the All-American Halftime Show was “people who love football, love America and love Jesus” in an interview ahead of the event.
