“I know a few people”

A 405 lbs star recently talked about his possibility of joining AEW down the line. He has been in the headlines following his WWE exit, and is currently working on the independent scene of pro-wrestling.

The star in question is Odyssey Jones. The latter was fired from WWE in the year 2024 after being charged with domestic violence against a female. However, Jones believes he was innocent, and it was just an allegation against him. But still, that incident heavily affected his reputation in the world of professional wrestling. The 405 lbs star has been competing in AJPW for the past year.

Fans believe that Jones could join All Elite Wrestling in the near future. Speaking on Niko Exxtra, Odyssey said that there have been no talks between him and AEW as of now. Therefore, there are no chances of a debut in All Elite Wrestling for a while.

“No, I haven’t talked to AEW. I know a few people in All Elite Wrestling.” Jones said. [H/T: Ringside News]

Amid AEW debut rumors, Odyssey Jones said WWE mishandled his exit

WWE was building Odyssey Jones into one of the company’s top stars. Many believed he was a main-event-level talent at the time. However, following his alleged involvement in the domestic violence incident, WWE did not waste any time removing him from the company.

In the same interview on Niko Exxtra, Jones said that WWE was moving towards TKO-ways. Therefore, they were afraid of any such allegations against associated talents. As a result, the company did not wait for the decision and decided to fire him without any second thought.

“Yes, WWE mishandled the situation… At the end of the day, it was a woman who was upset that I was making moves without her. TKO was transitioning into being more corporate, and they were scared.” Jones said. [H/T: Ringside News]

The former WWE star said it was a massive low in his life as he felt betrayed. He believes the woman who accused him of domestic violence was acting out of hurt and was trying to harm him in return.
