Glasgow Rangers moved to within a point of the top of the Scottish Premiership table on Wednesday night with a 5-1 win over Kilmarnock at Ibrox.
The club’s impressive form in the league, however, has not stopped Danny Rohl from wanting to get deals done to improve the squad ahead of the summer transfer window.
It was recently reported that the Ibrox giants are closing in on a deal to sign Tromso central midfielder Jens Hjerto-Dahl on a permanent deal in the summer, after they failed to get a move over the line in January.
The 20-year-old midfield star played 30 times in the Eliteserien in the 2025 campaign and produced four goals and four assists for the Norwegian outfit, which suggests that he could add an attacking threat to the Rangers squad.
Whilst Hjerto-Dahl has shown signs of promise in his home country, the Light Blues already have a young star who looks to be an even bigger talent than him, and they want to extend his stay at Ibrox.
Rangers want to do second deal for exciting star
Kevin Thelwell and Russell Martin leaned heavily on loan deals last summer, signing Jayden Meghoma, Mikey Moore, Nasser Djiga, Derek Cornelius, and Max Aarons on initial loans.
Not all of them have worked out perfectly. Nasser Djiga made early errors with a red card against Dundee in August and a big mistake, letting his man run past him, against Club Brugge in the Champions League. Max Aarons has also only started eight league games.
Moore and Meghoma, though, have both established themselves as regular starters in the team, on loan from Spurs and Brentford respectively, and now the club reportedly want to keep one of them for the 2026/27 campaign.
According to TEAMtalk, Glasgow Rangers are interested in a deal to bring Moore back to Ibrox for a second spell after his season-long loan spell expires.
The report claims that Spurs are open to the idea of allowing the 18-year-old forward to go back on loan next season, as they want to make sure that he is playing regular minutes, but it is not clear if they want him to try a new experience at a different club.
It adds, though, that Moore would be eager to return to Ibrox for a second spell if Thomas Frank cannot guarantee him regular game time in North London, which suggests that there is a chance that the Gers could keep him for another year.
Irrespective of whether or not they can bring him back, Rangers have already signed him for this season, and he is an even bigger talent than Hjerto-Dahl.

Moore is currently valued at £14m by Transfermarkt, which possibly provides an insight into the kind of money that would be required to sign him permanently, and that is more money than Rangers have ever paid for a player.
The England youth international has emerged as a key player for Rohl in recent weeks and months, and has shown that he can be a star player for Rangers, despite only being 18.
He is two years younger than Hjerto-Dahl, 20, and is already displaying a level of attacking quality that the Norway U21 international took longer to show on the pitch.
Hjerto-Dahl only managed one goal and one assist in his first two Eliteserien seasons combined as an 18-year-old and a 19-year-old midfielder, before his return of four goals and four assists in 2025.
Moore, meanwhile, is in his first year of regular first-team football at the age of 18 and has produced four goals and two assists in the Scottish Premiership, scoring his fourth goal in the 5-1 win over Kilmarnock last time out.
U23 scout Antonio Mango once claimed that Moore was “born to play football” and that was evident in the way he played against Killie at Ibrox, as he ran the show on the wing and as a number ten later in the match, with one goal, one assist, and several key passes in the build-up to goals.

Six goals and assists combined in 13 league stars is nothing to shrug at for an 18-year-old in a high-pressure environment, particularly when you consider that he joined under Martin when the team won one of the first seven league matches.
Moore has grown into his role as the season has gone on and he is now thriving under Rohl, who seems to have got the best out of the Spurs loanee.
Whether or not he comes back for a second spell, Rangers have hit the jackpot with the English attacker because he is a huge talent who has contributed a lot on the pitch, and even reported target Hjerto-Dahl does not appear to be as big of a talent as Moore.
Hopefully, Rangers supporters will get to watch Moore and Hjerto-Dahl in the same team next season if they can get deals over the line for both of them in the summer.
